The Challenge
The company's legacy dashboard crumbled under growing data volumes. Queries timed out, customers complained, and engineering spent most of its time firefighting instead of building.
What We Built
A modern event pipeline with streaming ingestion, an aggregated data store, and a responsive dashboard with customer-facing white-label reports and fine-grained role permissions.
Event Pipeline and Ingestion
Events stream in through a resilient ingestion layer that buffers, validates and routes data before it lands in an aggregated store. Pre-aggregation keeps queries cheap even as daily volume passes 5 million events.
Customer Reports and Access Control
Customers log in to white-label dashboards and build their own reports without engineering support. Fine-grained roles control who sees which metrics and segments, so every account only reaches its own data.
Technical Approach
We replaced point queries against raw tables with an aggregated, column-oriented store fed by a streaming pipeline. Dashboards read pre-computed roll-ups, which is why they render in under a second on millions of events.
Performance and Cost
The new stack halves the work per query and right-sizes the servers. After the migration, infrastructure costs dropped by 35 % while latency stayed below one second even during peak event load.
The Result
Dashboards now load in under a second on millions of events. Customers generate their own reports, and infrastructure costs fell by 35% after the migration.
Client Feedback
Our customers finally trust their dashboards again. Reports load in a blink, our support tickets fell, and our team stopped firefighting and started building.
