What We Built
A modern warehouse with dbt transformations, a governed semantic layer, and 15 production dashboards with row-level security.
Data Pipeline and Modeling
We consolidated transactional, CRM and marketing sources into the warehouse, building dbt models that standardize business definitions once so every dashboard reads from the same cleaned tables, with version-controlled transformations.
Governed Semantic Layer
Metrics such as revenue, churn and active customers are defined centrally, tested, and exposed through one layer, so a number means the same thing to sales, finance and marketing.
Self-Serve Dashboards
Fifteen production dashboards give teams their own view, while row-level security ensures a regional manager sees only their territory. Users can drill into the underlying data without writing SQL.
Technical Approach
The warehouse separates raw, staged and curated layers; dbt tests run on every deploy to catch bad data before it reaches a dashboard. Access is granted per role, and costs are controlled by clustering large fact tables. History is preserved slowly changing, so trend reports reflect definitions as they were.
Data Quality and Access
Every model carries tests for freshness, uniqueness and accepted value ranges, and failed tests block the deploy. Row-level policies mean 40+ business users explore trusted data without needing a data engineer.
The Result
Teams now share one version of the truth. A report that took two weeks of SQL now takes hours of self-service exploration.
